While
its core business continues to thrive, O'Hara's

development and expansion. Today,
the company employs over 180 staff on-site and the
bakery operation is housed in an ultra-modern,
55,000 sq. ft. facility at Foxford in Co.
Mayo.
The company's
research team are engaged in an ongoing product and process development
programme which has resulted in numerous national
and internationally recognised quality awards. Success has seen the company grow
to become one of the largest baker of cakes in
Ireland.
The
facilities at the plant are home to
state-of-the-art bakery technology and quality control
systems. The European HACCP (Hazard Analysis
at Critical Control Points) system was implemented in 1998
and O'Hara's are currently integrating a World
Class Manufacturing (WCM) Programme throughout the
plant.
For the
past fifty years the emphasis of the O'Hara family
has been on quality and hygiene. O’Haras of Foxford, picked up the Overall Winner ‘National Hygiene and Food Safety Award’ at the prestigious EIQA (Excellence Ireland Quality Association) Quality and Excellence Awards 2005.
